BLYTH AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

Welcome, and many thanks for taking the time to visit the Club Web Site, which has been established to provide a point of contact for anyone interested in amateur radio.

This is a small Club, and the number of members can vary with changing interests, but we are confident that you would be made most welcome whatever level in the hobby you have reached. Most of us start as short wave listeners but, with the advent of the 'Foundation Licence', you will quickly be able to obtain an M3 call sign. This will enable you to use most amateur bands with a restricted 10 watts transmitting power, however, under favourable conditions, you will be able to work the world.

Should you be interested, please contact us by E-Mail, or give us a ring to arrange a visit to the club, which meets every Wednesday evening, 7 to 9pm, at Newsham Community Centre. G4ZTH@lineone.net or kenwendy@supernet.comor Tel Ken Wendy on 01670 545261.

CLUB GENERAL INFORMATION

This Club has now been established for many years, with members coming and going, some who go on to work in the electrical industry.

On the educational side, the Club has a good history of teaching morse code, for those members who wish to obtain a full licence with it's associated privileges.

With the introduction of the 'Foundation Licence', the Club hopes to start foundation courses to help newcomers to obtain their first licence. These will include a basic understanding of morse code, to foundation level, plus all other aspects listed in the guide notes.

On a less formal note, we enjoy a chat about radio, and would be pleased to give guidance to new licencees, to establish their first station and shack.

To help cover room rental, and other expenses, the membership fees are currently set at £50 per annum, payable quarterly in advance.
